MAXILLARY
ALVEOLOPLASTY COMPACTION
and
HTR GRAFTING FOR RIDGE PRESERVATION
Alveoloplasty Compaction is the "compaction, compression &
condensation" of alveolar bone for Ridge preservation and form. This is
done after tooth extraction for bony reshaping of tooth sockets, interproximal
areas, bony undercuts and exostoses with a mallet and osteotome after a full
thickness mucoperiosteal flap reflection. The site is then grafted with
autogenous bone, HTR, and PRP for ridge preservation and creation of ideal bony
contours for ridge shape for complete and partial removable dentures. This
is coupled with the created and developed contour of the inner surface
(Intaglio) of the immediate denture. The technique is also used locally
for ridge contouring during implant surgery.
